Nagorno Karabakh conflict is one of the most complicated frozen conflicts, head of the European Liberal Democrat and Reform Party (ELDR) said.

“The word ‘frozen’ can be applied with reserves in this respect due to the lives the conflict continues to claim,” Graham Watson said, noting absence of progress in Karabakh settlement, despite active efforts.

In this context, he said that approximating positions, as well as boosting trust between Russia and the EU with regard to the resolution of the conflict in Transnistria, may positively affect the cooperation between parties in Karabakh.

“As a result of attempts to resolve the conflict by use of force, there will be neither wrong, nor right parties; there will be only survivors.”
