Prosperous Armenia member may quit his mandate in case of coalition - paper

Prosperous Armenia party has split over potential coalition with the ruling force, Hraparak paper reports.

Some of its members supporting former Armenian President Robert Kocharian oppose any alliance; others headed by party leader Gagik Tsarukyan favour a coalition.

It is noteworthy that the “Kocharian wing” includes not only former foreign minister Vartan Oskanian and Hmayak Hovhannisyan, but also a Javakhk Armenian Stepan Margaryan, ranking 12th on the proportional electoral list of the party.

According to the paper, Margaryan objected to a coalition in his recent interview, and some claim he might even refuse his deputy mandate if a coalition is formed.
