On Thursday, May 17, hackers attacked the official websites of the Eurovision 2012 song contest.

A group of hackers calling themselves “Fedai of liberty” targeted eurovision.az, eurovisionaz.com, esctoday.com and ann.az. sites.

They placed their demands and the photo of the murdered writer Rafig Tagi who was critical of Islam and the Prophet Muhammad.

They also placed slogans against the Eurovision song contest in Baku.

The technical staffs of the sites are working to eliminate these problems now, Azerbaijan Press Agency (APA) reported.

On January 17, Eurovision's official website published the participant list of 43 countries including Armenia. Gohar Gasparyan confirmed to PanARMENIAN.Net that Armenia is a full-fledged member of EBU and its participation in the contest to be held in Baku proves this.

Later, however, Armenia refused to take part in the Baku-hosted international song contest. Prior to the deadline set by the EBU, Poland also withdrew from Eurovision 2012; it will not face any sanctions.
