Expert blames external forces for Lebanese instability

There are a lot of external factors resulting in clashes in Lebanese city of Tripoli, Armenian political analyst said.

“There many players seeking to destabilize the situation in the region, pinning the tensions on the Syrian authorities. It is also worth considering that the West would benefit from withdrawal from any circle of Iran-Syria- Hezbollah chain,” Sargis Grigoryan told PanARMENIAN.Net.

According to The Daily Star, Lebanese soldiers backed by armored vehicles deployed Tuesday, May 15 in the northern coastal city of Tripoli to restore order after three days of clashes between the rival neighborhoods of Bab al-Tabbaneh and Jabal Mohsen that claimed the lives of three and wounded scores more.

Lebanese Army troops in their hundreds scrambled to the area in the early hours of the morning and began erecting checkpoints and conducting patrols, particularly along Syria Street that runs between Bab al-Tabbaneh, whose residents oppose Assad, and Jabal Mohsen, whose residents support the Syrian leader.
