International observers were not invited to Nagorno Karabakh to observe the elections to the provincial government, head of the NKR MFA press center Leonid Martirosian told Mediamax agency when commenting on the statement of the Azerbaiajani Central Election Committee about the intention to prevent the arrival of foreign observers during the elections in Nagorno Karabakh planned for August 8. In Martirosian's words, NKR leadership invited the international observers only for the presidential and parliamentary elections. The MFA representative noted that Azerbaijan always tried to impede the arrival of observers in Nagorno Karabakh, "however all these efforts were vain". At the same time he reminded that the foreign observers who were in Karabakh during presidential and parliamentary elections gave high estimate to the their preparation and conduction.
