In its July issue the National Geographic magazine again referred to the topic of the Armenian Genocide in Ottoman Turkey. Continuing to use the term "genocide" when characterizing the events of 1915, the magazine thus rejected the accusations in bias, which followed the publication of "Armenia Reborn" article in its March issue. As noted by the magazine editors in the "Forum" section, the publication of the article inspired over 1600 letters, which is "the most amount of mail received in response to any one story within the past 5 years." At that they published 4 of the responses received, including a letter of the leaders of the Armenian Assembly of America, which specifically commends the National Geographic for giving a corresponding assessment to the historical facts.
