Wings of Tatev control system problems fixed

All the control system malfunctions of Wings of Tatev, the world’s longest aerial tramway were eliminated on May 19, 3 p.m. local time, the tramway service management press service reported.

“We resumed passenger service of the aerial tramway, which currently is in perfect technical condition,” Wings of Tatev director Tigran Ghazaryan said.

The aerial tramway suspended passenger service on May 18 over control system malfunctions as a result of lightening and thunder.

The aerial tramway spans 5,7 km, the highest point is 330 meters. It takes 11 min from the village Halidzor to the famous medieval Tatev monastery. Wings of Tatev was granted certificate from the Guinness book of Records officially verifying the status of the longest reversible aerial tramway.
