Group of PKK sympathizers attack bus in Istanbul

A group of PKK sympathizers attacked a bus near the Şişli neighborhood of Istanbul, Turkey, on Sunday, May 20, throwing molotov cocktails at the vehicle while passengers were still in, Hurriyet Daily News reported citing private broadcaster NTV.

The group first attacked the bus with sticks and stones when the driver stopped at the traffic lights. The attackers then threw molotov cocktails at the vehicle as the passengers struggled to get out.

The group continued to throw explosives at the passengers, even when they were out of the vehicle. The driver then managed to put the fire out with a fire extinguisher.

Investigation is underway to identify the assailants.
