RPA, Prosperous Armenia differ in ways to reach common goals

Chairman of Christian Democratic Union and member of the ruling Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) commented on Prosperous Armenia’s refusal to join the new coalition.

Khosrov Harutyunyan named the political force having taken such a decision opposition and alternative to the acting authorities.

However, according to him, in Armenian political reality opposition is rival, and not alternative to the authorities. In this context, the politician noted Prosperous Armenia’s intention to become alternative to the acting authorities.

“Only RPA and Prosperous Armenia came up with pledges to make quality changes during their election campaigns,” Mr. Harutyunyan said, adding that RPA and Prosperous Armenia have common goals, however different ways to achieve them.

Prosperous Armenia issued a statement, which said the party doesn’t consider involvement in coalition government formation a reasonable step.
