Mass-killer Breivik verdict expected July or August

The Norwegian court hearing the case of confessed mass killer Anders Behring Breivik says a verdict won't be expected until at least a month after the trial has ended, AP reported.

The Oslo District Court today posted a brief statement on its website saying a ruling "cannot be expected sooner than 20 July. Another possible date for the judgment is 24 August".

The trial itself is still scheduled to conclude on June 22, but an official verdict date had not previously been known.

The court wouldn't give specific details about the timing, saying only that it is for logistical reasons.

Breivik has admitted to killing 77 people in a bomb and shooting rampage in Oslo last July.
