The South Caucasus should be a region of cooperation but not competition, Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Emlar Mamedyarov stated in his interview with Turan news agency. When commenting on the possibility of basing US military forces at the territory of Azerbaijan the Minister noted that "theoretically one can speak of any possibility, however this question is not being discussed today". On the whole Azerbaijan is against dividing the South Caucasus into spheres of influence between various military-political formations", Azerbaijani FM stated.
