ARMENIAN PRESIDENT SATISFIED WITH NEGOTIATIONS WITH IRANIAN LEADER
The first formal call of Iranian President Mohammad Khatami to Armenia is an event of utmost importance, Armenian President Robert Kocharian stated during yesterday's joint press conference with the Iranian leader. In his words, the agenda of bilateral relations is getting expanded gradually. "I can express my satisfaction both with the contents of the issues discussed and with the spirit of these negotiations", R. Kocharian stated. He also added that he has informed his Iranian colleague of the process of the Nagorno Karabakh conflict settlement. In this view both Presidents noted the necessity of the peaceful settlement of the problem. In his turn M. Khatami emphasized that Iran works for having friendly relations with all neighbors, however relationships with Armenia are special. He also noted that he cooperation between Armenia and Iran, having been developing since 1991, is not directed against any third countries.
