Iranian President to visit U.S. in September

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad will visit New York in September to attend an annual meeting of the UN General Assembly, Fars News Agency reported.

"As the head of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM), President Ahmadinejad will make a report on holding the NAM summit in Tehran in August," Director-General of Iran's Presidential Office Mohammad Reza Forqani told FNA on June 13.

NAM is comprised of some 120 member states and 17 observer countries. It is an international organization of states considering themselves not formally aligned with or against any major power bloc. NAM is the largest grouping of countries outside of the United Nations.
