Armenian Health Minister pledges to boost availability of medical services

On June 18, Armenia’s newly-appointed Health Minister voiced intention to boost availability and quality of medical services for all the citizens.

“No doctor and no citizen must deal with financial issues. Moreover, the citizens must be confident of the availability of the medical care,” Derenik Dumanyan said, pledging to take maximum efforts to reach the goals set.

Minister Dumanyan further noted development of the practice of voluntary medical insurance and introduction of mandatory health insurance in the years to come among the ministry’s priorities.
