10 killed in Afghan suicide bombing

A suicide bomber has killed at least 10 people in the eastern Afghan province of Khost, officials say, according to BBC News.

The attacker drove a motorbike laden with explosives into a Nato military convoy in Khost city.

An Afghan television channel said the blast happened as U.S. troops were carrying out vehicle checks.

A spokesman for Nato in Khost told the AFP news agency there were "some casualties" from the alliance, but would not provide further details.

At least six other Afghan civilians were wounded in the blast in the provincial capital.

Hospital officials in Khost city said at least one child and up to three policemen were among those killed.

It is the second time this month that a suicide attacker has targeted Nato troops in Khost, which is close to the border with Pakistan and hosts mainly U.S. forces.
