Prosperous Armenia rep.: government’s program overlooks youth issues

Prosperous Armenia youth wing head, MP Vahe Enfiajyan said the government doesn’t attach enough importance to youth issues.

“Youth is one of the largest and active strata of the society, totaling over 25% of the country’s population. However, it is reflected only in 8 lines in about 40-page program,” he told a PanARMENIAN.Net reporter, commenting on his criticism of the government’s program.

Dwelling on the government’s program regarding affordable housing for young families, Mr. Enfiajyan said, “I wouldn’t name it affordable in our reality. Let the government pursue transparent policy announcing the young people willing to participate in the program,” he said.

The MP further stressed the need to come up with proposals besides raising issues, deeming implementation of several youth programs possible even with the existing financial resources.

“A few years ago, authorities pursued youth-oriented policy focusing on effective cooperation with NGOs,” Mr. Enfiajyan said.
