Government guarded Armenia against external shocks – RPA member

Armenian executive authorities succeeded in guarding the country against all the major external shocks, Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) parliamentary group member said.

“During the economic crisis, Armenian government didn’t downsize social program costs; the banking system maintained stability,” Khosrov Harutyunyan said, stressing the need to assess the government’s activity by the level it managed to withstand eternal shocks and retain sustainability.

The MP further pointed out the lessons Armenian government reaped from the crisis: weak diversification of economy, boosting of export potential, with format of state-private sector cooperation positioning itself as a safeguard for investors and market participants.
