Armenian peacekeepers leave for Kosovo

Friday, July 6, 35 Armenian peacekeepers left for Kosovo to be deployed at Camp Bondsteel, the main base of the United States Army.

In the city of Uroševac, the peacekeepers will start the NATO-led six-month shift peace mission as part of Multinational Battle Group East.

Armenian peacekeeping unit, involved in NATO’s Kosovo mission since 2004, returned to Armenia in February 2012, following cuts in the mission.

A memorandum of understanding was signed to resume Armenian peacekeeper’s mission in Battle Group East.
