"The Dark Knight Rises" 13-minute clip hits the web

Warner Bros. has released a 13-minute video clip from "The Dark Knight Rises". That would be plenty of time for spoilers, but instead this mini-feature has director Chris Nolan talking about the intent behind the film and cast members Christian Bale, Anne Hathaway, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Michael Caine and Morgan Freeman discussing how they worked to bring Nolan's vision to life, TheWrap said.

There are plenty of looks at a profoundly dark and gritty Gotham, the relentless action, sprawling sets and crashing visual effects.

The film opens July 20.

Based on the DC Comics character Batman, the film will be the third installment in Christopher Nolan 's Batman film series, and is a sequel to Batman Begins (2005) and The Dark Knight (2008).

The Dark Knight Rises is intended to be the conclusion of the series. The film will take place eight years after the events of The Dark Knight and will introduce the characters of Selina Kyle and Bane -portrayed by Anne Hathaway and Tom Hardy, respectively - two villains from the Batman mythology.
