Rovio, Activision confirm Angry Birds Trilogy for console systems

Activision and Rovio have now confirmed the Angry Birds Trilogy for console systems, Fudzilla reports.

The Angry Birds Trilogy will be coming on disc for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. It will also come on cartridge for the Nintendo 3DS.

The Trilogy will contain the original Angry Birds, Seasons, and Rio. Not included will be the new Angry Birds in Space that was just recently released. The Trilogy will be re-mastered in HD for the console systems. In addition, the Xbox 360 version will offer Kinect support, while the PlayStation 3 version will get PS Move support. The console version will add a significant amount of enhancements over the original versions of the game.

While the Trilogy will be coming to the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and Nintendo 3DS, rumors of additional versions for the Nintendo Wii U and PlayStation Vita are likely possible, according to sources (depending on the sales of the initial console releases). The price has yet to be confirmed, but the Trilogy is expected to arrive this holiday season, with an official date to be forthcoming at a later time, Fudzilla says.
