20 draftees will be called to serve alternative labor service during the coming spring conscription next year, Minister of Labor and Social Maintenance Aghvan Vardanian stated today. The bill on "Alternative Military Service" has come into effect since July 1, 2004. According to it the duration of alternative unarmed military service is 36 months, while alternative civilian community service is to last 42 months.
