Microsoft has revealed a slew of new mice and keyboards that will launch alongside Windows 8, Digital Spy said.

Three new mice have been designed for Windows 8 that emphasize touch control. The most basic is the Sculpt Touch Mouse, which features a touchpad for four-way scrolling placed between the left and right mouse buttons.

Next is the Wedge Touch Mouse, which features a compact wedge design and a touch-sensitive surface for four-way scrolling. The top tier mouse is simply called the Touch Mouse, and features a large touch sensitive surface on a full sized mouse for one and two finger gestures.

All three mice will feature Microsoft's BlueTrack technology, allowing it to function even on textured or uneven surfaces like carpet.

Microsoft will also launch two new keyboards that will be compatible with any Windows 8 tablet via bluetooth. The Wedge Mobile Keyboard features full-sized keys and a travel cover that can also function as a tablet stand.

The Sculpt Mobile Keyboard features full-sized keys and an ergonomically curved design to make it more comfortable to type on. Both keyboards will also feature Windows 8 shortcut keys for quick start menu access and media functions.

"Our new mice and keyboards really light up Windows, providing fast and fluid navigation, increased productivity, and enhanced mobility packaged in sleek, stylish designs," Microsoft's Brett Kelleran said.

Exact release dates have not been confirmed for the new mice and keyboards, which are expected to launch close to October 26 when Windows 8 and the Surface tablet go on sale.

The exception is the Touch Mouse, which is already available for £69.99 ($79.99).
