The kidnapped Aleppo-based young Armenian has been released, a Syrian Armenian said, preferring to remain anonymous.

As he told a PanARMENIAN.Net reporter, the ransom had been paid, with the young Armenian already at large. However, he couldn’t provide information as to whether the ransom was paid by the Syrian Armenian community, or the parents.

Syrian rebels kidnapped an Aleppo-based Armenian Hovsep Balmanoukian (born in 1990) on border with Lebanon, with USD 20 thous. ransom demanded.

According to Outreach to Syrian Armenians Facebook page, Syria’s Armenian community voiced readiness to pay half the ransom (USD 15 thous.)
