Representative of the Institute of Oriental Studies at the Armenian National Academy of Sciences believes Turkey’s military intervention in Syrian conflict to back rebels hardly probable.

As Vahram Ter-Matevosyan told a press conference, Turkey may break into Syria only to stop the activity of the outlawed Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK).

“Kurdish problem may serve the only reason for Turkey to transform Syria into arena of hostilities,” the expert said, adding that Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoğlu’s stance on Syria is often slammed in Turkey.
