MP forecasts inflation rise amid global price upsurge

Low inflation rate recorded in Armenia in Jan-July 2012 (2,3%) may be affected by the trends in world food markets, head of the National Assembly Standing Committee on Financial-Credit, Budgetary Affairs said.

Gagik Minasyan stressed the role of the low inflation rate in the face of possible price upsurge in international markets due to poor harvest.

In this context, he forecast that the negative tendency would affect Armenia as well over the lack of certain crops in the country.

Mr. Minasyan further voiced confidence for the low inflation to retain the 4±1,5% rate.
