According to Haykakan Zhamanak daily, Armenian’s Shirak province police chief Karen Babakekhyan said that Gyumri mayor’s son Spartkan Ghukasyan has left abroad.

“How come he managed to flee the county? Though the criminal case on shootings was instigated against him on Aug. 25, the police “learned” about the incident only on Aug. 28. So, Spartkan Ghukasyan had 3-4 days to flee the country. Probably, the police were well aware of the shootings, and intentionally delayed the case for Ghukasyan to flee the country,” the paper says.
