IMF mission to inspect Armenia’s fulfillment of economic liabilities

Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan met with a delegation led by the head of International Monetary Fund (IMF) Armenia mission Mark Horton.

At the meeting, the Armenian official expressed satisfaction over the progress of joint programs. As Mr. Sargsyan noted, Armenia has been fully implementing its budget liabilities. “A lower-than-envisaged budget deficit was posted; inflation remains within targeted limits, while economic growth shows better-than-planned results,” the PM said.

Mr. Horton, in turn, noted, that the delegation aims to organize discussions on economic policy and 5th final inspection of the implementation of Extended Fund Facility (EFF) and Extended Credit Facility (ECF) programs. As the Fund official stressed, Armenia showed positive results in providing economic growth.

The parties further focused on main directions of the country’s economic policy and development perspectives among other issues of bilateral interest.
