Harrison Ford featured in “42” baseball legend biopic trailer

Harrison Ford has featured in the first trailer for the upcoming baseball movie 42, Digital Spy said.

Newcomer Chadwick Boseman stars in the lead role of baseball legend Jackie Robinson in the biopic from director Brian Helgeland.

The film follows the life of Robinson, who broke Major League Baseball's colour barrier after making his debut for the Brooklyn Dodgers in 1947.

Ford stars as the Dodgers' general manager Branch Rickey, who first signed Robinson to the minor leagues.

The trailer also features Jay-Z's Jackie Robinson-referencing track 'Brooklyn (We Go Hard)'.

Alan Tudyk (Firefly), Christopher Meloni (True Blood), TR Knight (Grey's Anatomy), Ryan Merriman (Pretty Little Liars), Jon Bernthal (The Walking Dead) and Nicole Beharie (Shame) will also feature in the drama.

42 will be released in the US on April 12, 2013. A UK release date has yet to be confirmed.
