Aronian, Anand tie Grand Slam Masters Final round 2

Armenian grandmaster Levon Aronian tied the game with India’s Viswanathan Anand in round 2 of Grand Slam Masters Final.

At Sao Paulo-hosted championship, Fabiano Caruana (Italy) and Magnus Carlsen (Norway) beat Sergey Kariakin (Russia) and Francisco Vallejo (Spain) respectively.

Caruana is leading the championship with 6 points, followed by Aronian and Carlsen.

Round 3 standings were announced as follows: Aronian-Vallejo, Caruana-Anand, Carlsen-Kariakin.

The 5th edition of the Grand Slam Masters Final will be played in two different venues. The first leg of this double round-robin event will be played in Sao Paulo from 25th of September to 1st of October, and the second leg will be played in Bilbao from 6th to 11th of October.

According to rules, a win is awarded with 3 points, draw brings 1 point, loss amounts to 0 points.
