Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian delivered a speech at Los Angeles World Affairs Council.

In his speech, the Foreign Minister talked about Armenia’s foreign policy, Armenia's relations with the United States, regional issues at South Caucasus and Yerevan’s efforts in overcoming the challenges.

As Nalbandian noted, “Yerevan conducts multivectoral policy, with strengthening international ties and expanding cooperation as a key issue on Armenia’s agenda. In building partnership relations, Armenia is guided by the principles of reciprocity, goodwill, trust and mutual benefit.”

Dwelling on Armenia-U.S. ties, Nalbandian stressed the mutual trust between the countries as a basis of expanding cooperation. The Minister specifically noted the age-long friendship between the countries, as well as the role of the American Armenians play in boosting ties. “The independent Armenia follows in the U.S.’ steps, adhering to the principles of democracy, market economy and human rights. Today, the humanitarian assistance by the U.S. is transforming into a mutually beneficial partnership. We hope the the 20th anniversary of the two countries’ diplomatic ties will open up new perspectives for further partnership,” Nalbandian stressed.
