RPA undecided on Oskanian case yet – party member

The Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) hasn’t determined its position on former foreign minister Vartan Oskanian, RPA parliamentary group head said.

“We have received no answers to a number of questions and thus, can’t take a final decision on the issue,” Galust Sahakyan said, adding that the parliament has other powers other than those of an investigative institution.

“We aren’t authorized to condemn Oskanian,” he said.

Today, October 1, Armenian National Assembly is holding discussions of Prosecutor General Aghvan Hovsepyan’s proposal to deprive ex-minister Vartan Oskanian of his congressional immunity over the money-laundering charges against Civilitas Foundation.
