“Shadow Dancer” wins top award at Dinard film fest

James Marsh’s Shadow Dancer won the Golden Hitchcock Award as this year's Dinard British Film Festival came to a close, The Hollywood Reporter said.

A star-studded jury including Celia Imrie, Stephen Dillane and jury president Patrick Bruel under the watchful eye of this year's 'hommage' recipient, Brit acting legend Tom Courtenay, plumped for Marsh's film starring Clive Owen and Andrea Riseborough.

The Golden Hitchcock nod comprises of financial help to the French distributor and the filmmaker and also The Cine+ Award, which offers a promotional campaign on France's Ciné+ channels at the time of release.

Shadow Dancer also won the Prix Public chosen by the festival’s audiences.

The Heartbeat Award (Prix Coup de Coeur) went to Ben Drew’s gritty urban drama iLL Manors, with the movie also picking up the Technicolor Award for best cinematography.

The Allianz Award for best screenplay went to Lisa Barros D’Sa and Glenn Leyburn’s Northern Irish punk comedy Good Vibrations, written by Glenn Patterson and Colin Carberry.

Marc Evan’s Hunky Dory opened proceedings at the festival Oct. 4 with the shindig coming to a close with Morgan Matthews’ Britain in a Day Oct. 6.
