60 countries have already expressed readiness to compete at the 2013 Summer Universiade in the city of Kazan. The majority of them - 36 nations - applied online whereas the rest of them sent completed general entry forms by email.

2013 Summer Universiade will probably bring together around 170 nations and the total number of athletes and officials that will come to Kazan for the Games will reach record levels - 13,500 people.

The largest delegations - up to 500 athletes and more - are expected from such sporting nations as the USA, Canada, China and Great Britain. These countries already submitted general entry forms, as did Ukraine, Italy, Pakistan, Uruguay, New Zealand, Lebanon, Uzbekistan, Nigeria and many others. The final list of the nations participating in the 2013 Summer Universiade will be available on January 6, 2013, the deadline for applications. The number of participants on a team and rosters will be announced not later than one month before the start of the Games, the official website of the Universiade reported.
