On October 15, Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan attended the second assembly of World Armenian Congress (WAC), union for Armenian NGOs.

In his speech President Sargsyan stressed the need to welcome any initiative aimed at uniting the Diaspora.

“We are small in number. For this reason, we must struggle for maintenance of identity, neutralizing the threat of assimilation. We must welcome every possible mechanism of mutual assistance and self-organization,” RA President said.

“Consistent support will be provided to Syrian Armenians, as they were forced to take the road of migration after the Genocide. Due to the Armenian organizations worldwide, we can now speak about world Armenian civil society, which unites different kinds of organizations – political, benevolent, cultural,” President Sargsyan said.
