Paper: oligarchs’ supermarkets put minor stores out of business

According to Haykakan Zhamanak daily, 180 supermarkets are operating in Armenia, 55 of them owned by 7 major companies.

Star was named the largest supermarket chain (30 stores), with Yerevan City boasting the highest trade volume.

According to MPG, the Armenian representative of Gallup International polling company, 73,4% of Armenian consumers buy products at supermarkets, which proves that oligarch-owned chain stores are putting minor stores out of business.
