Armenian Parliament Speaker Hovik Abrahamyan met October 19 with German ambassador toYerevan Reiner Morell.

National assembly speaker highly assessed sustainable development of bilateral relations, hailing the intensification of intergovernmental ties.

The envoy, in turn, stressed the need to further deepen inter-parliamentary cooperation, noting that Germany attaches great importance to development of multifaceted partnership with Armenia.

The two men further discussed “International Parliamentary Scholarship” program, in the framework of which many young Armenians took internship in Bundestag.

As the parliament speaker noted, an agreement had been reached with his German counterpart on implementation of a similar program in RA National Assembly.

Negotiations have been conducted between Armenian parliament and German embassy, enabling German graduates to undergo internship practice in RA National Assembly starting 2013.

“That’s another step aimed at strengthening interparliamentary cooperation,” Hovik Abrahamyan said.
