RPA expects Armenia’s political forces to clarify their stance

The ruling Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) hopes for political forces to specify their positions on the threshold of presidential elections, RPA parliamentary group secretary said.

“RPA has clearly stated its position for oncoming presidential race, declaring current leader Serzh Sargsyan as its candidate,” Hovhannes Sahakyan told a news conference.

As Sahakyan further noted, the opposition doesn’t have a common candidate, with even Armenian National Congress (ANC) opposition bloc failing to nominate one.

“Heritage leader Raffi Hovannisian has declared his entering presidential race, proving the idea of a common opposition candidate to be infeasible,” Sahakyan said.

“Prosperous Armenia, as a separate force, determines its own policy line,” he said, urging for the opposition to voice its position.
