Iran earthquake tremors felt in Armenia

The tremors recorded in Iran on November 7 were felt in several Armenian provinces, RA Emergency Ministry Seismic Protection Service Agency reported.

Grade 3-4 quake hit cities of Kajaran and Kapan, with grade 3 tremors felt in Goris city and grade 2-3 – in Jermuk and Ararat.

Several tremors jolted parts of northwestern Iran on Wednesday, Nov 7, almost three months after a couple of devastating earthquakes ruined several towns and villages in the region.

According to the U.S. Geological Survey, a magnitude 5.5 quake was centered 32 miles north-northeast of Tabriz, at a depth of 6.2 miles.

The main quake was followed by at least 12 aftershocks ranging from 2.4 to 5.1 on the Richter scale.
