100 missing as boat carrying Bangladeshis sinks in Bay of Bengal

A boat carrying 110 Bangladeshis and Rohingya Muslims from neighboring Myanmar sank in the Bay of Bengal on Wednesday, Nov 7, as they were heading to Malaysia and nearly 100 of them are missing, a Bangladeshi border force officer said, according to Reuters.

The boat went down in rough seas, Lieutenant-Colonel Mohammad Jahid of the border guards force said, adding that twelve people had been rescued and the search was on for the others.
