According to IMF report, the highest consumer price inflation in Caucasus and Central Asia was posted in Uzbekistan (12,9%), Tajikistan (6%) and Kazakhstan (5%.)

4,3% inflation was reported in Turkmenistan, followed by Azerbaijan (3%), Kirghizia (2,9%), Armenia (2,8%) and Georgia 0,2%.

IMF forecasts mild inflation rate in 2012 due to rapid slump in consumer prices in oil- and gas- importing countries. However, a global consumer price increase will trigger new growth in inflation rates.

Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan are regional oil and gas exporters, while Armenia, Georgia, Kirghizia and Tajikistan are importing oil and gas.
