The new YouTube Wii app means that the online video leader is now available on all major gaming consoles (Playstation 3, Xbox 360 as well as over 400 million other devices across the globe. The app also launches just days before Nintendo launches its Wii U, which should have a greater emphasis on media consumption than previous Nintendo products.

The app lets users do all the typical things like signing in to see saved videos, playlists, and favorites. Users can also view all subscribed channels and search for videos using Wii remote.

The app is available for free and can be downloaded today in the U.S. via the Wii Shop Channel. YouTube said it plans to roll out the app to other regions in the near future.
