Georgian PM, OSCE rep. discuss minority problems

Georgian Prime Minister Bidzina Ivanishvili met with the OSCE High Commissioner on National Minorities Knut Vollebaek on Thursday, November 15.

Ways to resolve the problems of national minorities in Georgia was in the focus of the discussion.

Vollebaek briefed Ivanishvili on the projects OSCE implements for Georgia’s national minorities.

Bidzina Ivanishvili voiced readiness to continue cooperation within the on-going projects and updated the High Commissioner with the views of Georgia's new government to address the problems of ethnic minorities.

Vollebaek expressed satisfaction with the fact that the new Georgian authorities are ready to continue the policy of integration of national minorities into Georgian society and are ready to defend their rights, Trend reported.
