Lilit Mkrtchian drops out of Women’s World Chess Championship

Armenia’s Lilit Mkrtchian lost to Russia’s Nadezhda Kosintseva in the first blitz chess game to drop out of FIDE Women’s World Chess Championship.

Earlier, grandmaster Elina Danielian lost 0,5:1,5 to India’s Harika Dronavalli in the championship round 2, game 2.

In line with the knockout tournament rules, the losing player drops out of the championship.

The final championship game is due November 30.
