Reports on death of Nairi Hunanyan’s mother not confirmed yet

A statement was issued on November 23, 8.30 pm, according to which a woman’s body was found at 2 meter distance from the sea in Yevpatoria, Ukraine. The woman was later identified as resident of Yevpatoria city, born in 1948, representative of the Central Office of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea said.

“The woman’s son informed about the missing woman. Her body was later found on the beach,” Yelena Yatsenko told a PanARMENIAN.Net reporter, adding that drowning was reported as the preliminary cause of death.

“Forensic medical examination is currently under way, with no official conclusion drawn yet,” Yatsenko said, refusing to divulge the woman’s name.

In conversation with PanARMENIAN.Net, Ukrainian sources confirmed the information claiming deceased Natella Hunanyan (Galstyan) was identified as Nairi Hunanyan’s mother, who led an armed attack on the Armenian Parliament.

On October 27, 1999, a group of terrorists led by Nairi Hunanyan assassinated prominent public and political activists of Armenia: Prime Minister Vazgen Sargsyan, parliament speaker Karen Demirchyan, vice speakers Yuri Bakhshyan and Ruben Miroyan, parliament members Michael Kotanyan, Armenak Armenakyan, Henrik Abramyan and Leonard Petrosyan.
