ANC urges lawmen to bring YSU dean to account

Armenian National Congress (ANC) has issued a statement, suggesting another case of exerting pressure on the opposition was recorded.

“Members of ‘Counterattack’ initiative group have attempted to inform students of Yerevan State University faculty of history about the totalitarian regime, political prisoners and other illegalities recorded in the country during the break time. However, the dean later appeared, exerting pressure on the group members, who called the police. The Congress urges the law-enforcement agencies to legally address the issue,” the statement reads.

The incident was recorded on November 2, with the dean of YSU faculty of history denying getting involved in the skirmish with the activist. According to Edik Minasyan, 4 group members rushed into the building, made statements condemning the authorities, foiling the classes as a result.
