Ukrainian political analyst talks Armenian Diaspora's peculiarities

Armenian Diasporas worldwide have a wonderful peculiarity: while preserving deep ties with their historical motherland, they become deeply involved in the lives of their new homes, a Ukrainian political analyst said.

"As fully fledged citizens, Armenians strive to promote their new homeland's prosperity, which, of course, is possible if new land is hospitable enough," Mikhail Beletsky told Analitika.at.ua.

"Armenians' contributions to the life and culture of major powers like Russia, France, U.S. is universally known, with Ukraine as another one of the countries having welcomed the Armenians," the expert said, specifically noting Armenian film director Sergei Parajanov in this context.

The expert further spoke of Armenians' involvement in Ukraine's political life, wishing the newly-elected Armenian-born parliamentarians to remember their duty to their voters, by following the suit of a well-known human rights defender, MP Genrikh Altunyan.
