Head of the Bundestag Christian Democrats Union (CDU) Angela Merkel again spoke against Turkey's membership in the EU, reported DPA German agency. Such membership is undesirable for the EU, she stated at an Evangelic Church Congress in Hanover. As noted by Merkel, before the beginning of the talks over Turkey's accession to the EU October 3 the country has to meet many preconditions, e.g. recognize Cyprus and establish diplomatic relations with Armenia.
