OSCE chair calls for rapid settlement of Karabakh conflict

The recent clashes at the line of contact proves the need for progress in Nagorno Karabakh conflict settlement, OSCE Chairperson-in-Office, Ireland's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs and Trade said.

Eamon Gilmore further urged the parties for cooperation with the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs to yield progress in Karabakh settlement.

“The OSCE position calls for conflict settlement through the negotiations between the conflicting parties. The matter rests in a shaped process - the Minsk Group's activity, which is supported by the OSCE and assistance to the parties of conflict at these negotiations,” Trend quoted OSCE Chairperson-in-Office as saying.

Gilmore said that Ireland hosted several events during its OSCE chairmanship, with Dublin sharing its experience regarding the peace process on Northern Ireland.
