Envoy commends SEMRA foundation for supporting Armenia

Armenia's ambassador to Switzerland Charles Aznavour met December 7 with the president and the vice-president of the Fondation Suisse pour les enfants atteints de maladies rénales en Arménie (SEMRA) Claude Hêche and Jean-Pierre Bernhardt.

The works carried out by SEMRA were in the focus of the discussion, with Mr. Hêche noting Ambassador Aznavour’s call to support Armenia following 1988 disastrous earthquake as a motive for the establishment of the foundation.

He further noted that the envoy’s joining SEMRA gave renewed impetus to its activity, inspiring different investors.

Ambassador Aznavour, in turn, expressed gratitude to the foundation for the assistance extended to Armenia, stressing the importance of its further effective activity in the country, RA MFA press service reported.

SEMRA was established in 1988 following the disastrous earthquake in Armenia. It extended financial assistance of over euro 12 mln in the past 20 years.
