Public figure slams government’s struggle against corruption

Executive Director of Transparency International Anti-corruption Center slammed the measures the ruling authorities take to combat corruption.

“Though Armenia’s corruption perception index totals 34 out of 100, other post-Soviet states are even in worse situation,” Varuzhan Hoktanyan said, adding that the results of the public opinion poll conducted by Gallup International Association will be released in May, 2013.

Mr. Hoktanyan further noted education and legal sectors, as well as the law-enforcement agencies as the most corrupt.
